This position serves as a critical hub for Rochdale Village security operations, bridging the gap between field officers, supervisors, and external stakeholders. The role is designed to ensure seamless communication and accurate record-keeping during evening and overnight shifts, maintaining a safe environment for the community.
This role operates on a rotating schedule that includes weekends. Shifts are scheduled for 35 hours per week or 21 hours per week, covering the following windows:
The day-to-day focus involves maintaining a comprehensive blotter that documents all occurrences during the tour of duty. You will act as the central point of contact for security personnel, managing radio communications regarding patrol assignments, specific complaints, and crime conditions. A key responsibility includes monitoring officer availability and notifying supervisors if a Public Safety Officer fails to check in hourly.
You will also handle administrative and logistical tasks, such as coordinating walkie-talkie distribution, recording vehicle tow notifications for the police, and reviewing parking lot records. The role requires direct interaction with the public; you will interview complainants who visit the security office in person and prepare detailed security reports for them.
