About the Role
As a Director of Software Engineering and Digital Staff Engineer, you will serve as a member of the technical leadership team, operating at the intersection of engineering, product, and design. Your mission is to champion innovation, drive standardization, and deliver modern technology patterns across the stack. You will define and implement the technology vision in partnership with architecture and product leadership, ensuring that product roadmaps align with technology-focused initiatives and enterprise standards.
This is a fast-paced environment where you will lead end-to-end solution design, from business capability analysis to microservices definitions. You will drive cloud adoption and automation strategies to ensure outstanding performance, robust security, and cost optimization. Beyond strategy, you will contribute to solution design and development activities, getting into the details to ensure incremental value delivery. You will also mentor agile teams and support the development of next-generation technical leaders through coaching and a focus on developer experience.

Requirements
- verified10 years of hands-on experience as a full-stack engineer and/or solution architect
- verifiedProficient in Core AWS services (VPC, DNS, ELB, CloudFront, API Gateway, IAM, EKS, Lambda, etc.)
- verifiedExpertise in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Angular, Spring, NodeJS/NestJS and microservices architecture
- verifiedExperience with DevSecOps, CI/CD automation (Jenkins Core, GitOps), and container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS)
- verifiedDeep understanding of life insurance digital ecosystems
- verifiedFamiliarity with AI/ML concepts is advantageous
- verifiedMust be able to work under regulations of Securities Exchange Act of 1934, Investment Advisers Act of 1940, ERISA, and FINRA
Nice to Have
Experience in designing, implementing, or maintaining systems that support Term Life Insurance operations such as policy administration, underwriting and claims processing. GitOps or equivalent experience. Familiarity with AI/ML concepts.
