Tufts Medical Center is a world-renowned academic medical center that has been providing exceptional care across New England for over two centuries. As the principal teaching hospital for Tufts University School of Medicine and a leading research institution, we conduct game-changing medical and health policy research. Our clinicians are dedicated to delivering innovative, patient-centered care, ranging from primary care to our Level I Trauma Center and leading heart transplant program.
As the Director of Sponsored Programs Research Administration, you will report to the VP of Research Administration and lead the centralized pre-award functions within Research Administration. This role is pivotal in representing the hospital as the Institutional Signature Authority for research grants and contracts with federal, state, non-profit, academic, and industry partners.
Your mission is to assist faculty and administrators in identifying funding sources, preparing and submitting proposals, and negotiating sponsored research grants and contracts. You will work closely with the Legal Department to ensure contract language aligns with Tufts Medical Center's risk tolerance and collaborate with scientists and administrators to verify compliance with federal and agency policies. By developing policies that meet Federal Audit Guidelines and streamlining the contracting process, you will help drive the next era of healthcare at Tufts Medicine.
At Tufts Medicine, we are motivated by the "what's next." We believe that research and clinical trials expand our understanding of conditions, treatments, and medical technologies, allowing us to evolve with our community's changing needs. Our success is driven by a team dedicated to understanding how industry-funded research complements our robust federally- and foundation-funded portfolio. Together, we relentlessly pursue healthcare's biggest questions to create healthier lives for all.
Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted directly by the recruitment team to schedule a series of conversations, which may include a screening call, a panel interview with leadership, and a final discussion with the hiring manager. Please ensure your application includes a current resume and cover letter detailing your relevant experience in research administration and contract negotiation.
Tufts Medical Center is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment where every individual feels valued for the skills and experience they bring. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, color, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, or veteran status.
