Our client, a highly respected and well-established organization, is seeking an experienced Director of Underwriting to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior underwriting professional with a strong background in lease financing and structured credit transactions who is looking to join a collaborative, employee-focused culture.
This hybrid role offers the chance to work alongside an experienced and supportive leadership team within an organization known for its stability, strong market reputation, and long-term employee retention. The ideal candidate will bring deep underwriting expertise, sound credit judgment, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, relationship-driven environment.
In this position, you will lead underwriting and transaction evaluation activities for prospective financing opportunities, ensuring analyses are thorough, timely, and aligned with internal risk standards. You will support structuring discussions by assessing collateral quality, borrower creditworthiness, and transaction viability while coordinating with internal compliance stakeholders on onboarding and regulatory requirements.
You will oversee transactions throughout the approval lifecycle, maintaining active management of deal flow to ensure complete and accurate investment memoranda and approvals. The role involves conducting detailed financial and operational due diligence through direct engagement with clients, advisors, and finance teams to identify key risks and performance drivers. Additionally, you will partner cross-functionally with legal, accounting, and operational teams to facilitate documentation, closing, and funding activities while ensuring all conditions and approvals are properly satisfied.
You will also evaluate and enhance internal execution processes to improve operational efficiency, transaction turnaround times, and the overall client experience, while providing ongoing updates and market insight to senior leadership regarding portfolio opportunities and industry trends.
