The Director of Presidential Operations and Board Relations serves as a pivotal member of the Office of the President, providing high-level operational, governance, and administrative leadership. This role exists to ensure the seamless coordination of presidential operations and board governance activities, acting as the central hub between the President, the Board of Trustees, Cabinet members, and the General Counsel.
In this capacity, you will manage complex, confidential, and time-sensitive matters with exceptional judgment and political acumen. The position requires a professional who can anticipate the operational needs of the President, aligning calendar flows, meeting materials, and cross-functional priorities to drive institutional effectiveness. You will be the primary operational lead for board logistics, ensuring that governance processes, records, and practices align with institutional bylaws and expectations.
You will operate within the Office of the President, a high-stakes environment where precision and discretion are paramount. The team is dedicated to supporting the President and the Board of Trustees in advancing institutional priorities. Success in this role depends on building trust and credibility with senior leaders, trustees, and colleagues across the institution, while maintaining a service-oriented mindset that demands excellence in responsiveness and professionalism.
This position demands a high level of availability, responsiveness, and flexibility. Due to the nature of presidential and board support, the role may require evening or weekend work to accommodate board meetings, presidential events, retreats, commencement, and other critical institutional activities.
