The Director of Nutrition Services serves as the strategic liaison between Opaa! and the school district, responsible for the overall management of the child nutrition program. This role ensures seamless execution of daily operations while maintaining strict adherence to Opaa! policies, client expectations, and governmental regulations. The Director acts as the primary advocate for the program, fostering strong relationships with district leadership, school principals, and the community to maximize customer satisfaction and program participation.

Your day will be a dynamic blend of operational oversight, team leadership, and community engagement. You will begin by observing kitchen production, ensuring menus are followed, food quality is maintained, and safety protocols like HACCP are strictly enforced. You will manage the kitchen staff through daily huddles and weekly meetings, handling everything from scheduling and training to conflict resolution and performance development.
Beyond the kitchen, you will serve as a key communicator for the district. This includes preparing monthly status reports for the Board of Education, attending board meetings, and leading Nutrition Advisory Council meetings. You will also coordinate catered events and partner with the district's wellness program, ensuring the meal program remains a positive and integral part of the school environment.
