Director of Maintenance (Multi-Family/Affordable Property Management)

About the Role

As the Director of Maintenance for Pratum Companies, you will provide strategic leadership for our entire portfolio of 150+ affordable housing multi-family properties. This role is designed to ensure systematic, comprehensive, and consistent maintenance practices that deliver safe, clean, and orderly environments with excellent curb appeal. You will champion sustainable practices while maintaining cost-effectiveness, serving as the bridge between on-site operations and corporate asset management goals.

In this position, you will foster a culture of professionalism, teamwork, and mutual respect among staff and residents. Your day-to-day involves setting the example for site staff in attitude and demeanor while collaborating closely with Development, Asset Management, and Property Management teams. You will leverage data and analytics to drive continuous improvement, optimize resource allocation, and ensure our properties meet the rigorous compliance standards required by investors, HUD (NSPIRE), DCHA, and other regulatory partners.

Location & Work Model

This is a non-remote leadership role based in our corporate office in Gaithersburg, MD. Candidates must reside in the Washington, DC region to facilitate effective presence and travel. Relocation assistance is available for the right candidate. The role requires frequent travel to properties geographically distributed across the US, with a heavy concentration in the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
