The Director of Development provides strategic leadership and daily oversight of the University's major gifts program. Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Philanthropic Relationships, this role is designed to secure major gifts and advance institutional priorities through the development and implementation of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies.
In this position, you will directly supervise the Relationship Manager/Major Gifts team while managing a personal portfolio of high-capacity prospects. You will be personally responsible for designing and implementing strategies for a portfolio of 125-150 prospects, conducting substantive donor contacts, and qualifying new major gift prospects. The role requires close collaboration with the AVP to create opportunities for leadership engagement with prospects and involves attending and occasionally hosting events for acquisition, cultivation, and stewardship.
This position requires travel and includes evening and weekend responsibilities to ensure the highest level of donor engagement and program success.
