HomeFirst is a Bay Area nonprofit dedicated to ending homelessness. With 45 years of experience, we have tripled our impact over the last five years, delivering comprehensive services that help people secure and keep housing while addressing both immediate and long-term needs. Operating with $80M in revenue, clean audits, and a strong leadership team of over 500 employees, we are well-established to advance the belief that housing is a fundamental human right requiring collaborative solutions.
The Director of Development serves as a key driver of HomeFirst's contributed revenue growth, leading a multi-million-dollar fundraising program. This role is designed to expand the organization's donor and corporate funding base across Silicon Valley, the South Bay, and Sonoma County, with a specific focus on growing major gifts and corporate support.
Reporting to the Chief Development & Marketing Officer, you will lead the execution of integrated strategies across individual giving, corporate partnerships, and annual campaigns. You will manage a team of two, partnering with leadership and program staff to build a robust pipeline, deepen relationships, and advance a high-performing, growth-oriented fundraising program. This is a hybrid role requiring three days per week in our San Jose office.
Our work is guided by a culture of Kindness, Passion, and Excellence. We act with empathy toward others, ignite change to fulfill our mission, and deliver exceptional service to our communities.
At HomeFirst, diversity, equity, and inclusion are central to our services, workplace, and decisions. Recognizing housing as a social justice issue, we prioritize equitable practices, honor lived experiences, and uphold dignity for all. We foster belonging and accountability, embedding these values in our recruitment and leadership to strive for excellence at every level.
We are looking for a proactive, entrepreneurial fundraiser who takes ownership of outcomes and is motivated by ambitious revenue goals. If you are a strategic operator who uses data to drive performance, a relationship-builder comfortable engaging with stakeholders from individual donors to senior leaders, and a collaborative team leader who fosters a solutions-oriented environment, we want to hear from you.
