SMX is seeking a mission-oriented Director of Business Development & Capture to grow high-visibility, mission-focused technologies by driving complex deals with DoD and IC customers. You will play a vital role in creating a safer tomorrow by offering digital solutions related to real-time data processing and visualization, space-ground systems, and other related joint and/or all-domain operations.
In this hybrid role, based in the DC Metro or Northern Virginia, you will serve as the primary face of the company for the Space and Intel team. You will identify, qualify, and capture government acquisitions, leveraging a deep mission understanding of customer needs in Cloud Development, Research and Development, and Future Architectures. Your efforts will span the entire capture lifecycle, from early positioning and shaping to the development and implementation of win strategies.
As an individual contributor who thrives in a team setting, you will act as a conduit between business units and growth teams, orchestrating multi-disciplined resourcing against pipeline priorities. You will manage the opportunity pipeline, forecasting, and customer contact while collaborating closely with Business Development, Financial, Proposal, Product, Contracts, and Engineering teams. The role requires 30% travel to visit customers and SMX offices for collaboration on key initiatives, as well as representing the company at trade conferences and shows.

Ability to learn new technologies and brief them to new customer groups to build trust. Veterans or Intelligence Community prior service.
