We are seeking a Director of Risk ID and Assessment to lead a diverse team of high-performing professionals. In this role, you will ensure that control management is deeply embedded in the day-to-day operations of our organization. You will play a pivotal part in advancing the modernization of risk management practices, specifically by leveraging AI and advanced analytics to enhance risk identification and assessment.
This position requires extensive collaboration with multiple partners across numerous business units, functional areas, and geographies. You will serve as a key leader for the US Consumer Services Control Management Risk ID, Assessment, Testing, and Reporting team, working to identify, assess, mitigate, and report on Operational Risk within business unit processes. Your work will ensure adherence to regulatory standards and Amex policies while enhancing business resilience through a clear methodology for managing inherent and residual risk.
Candidates selected for this role will engage in a structured interview process designed to assess technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and cultural fit. The process typically includes an initial screening, followed by in-depth discussions with hiring managers and cross-functional partners to evaluate strategic thinking and collaboration skills.

Experience in providing identification of operational risks throughout business processes and systems, facilitating risk assessment performance, enhancing risk assessments and associated methodologies, leading independent control monitoring, identifying areas of risk for intervention, and compiling thematic risk reporting.
