The Global Risk & Compliance Organization (GRC) is an independent risk management function led by the Chief Risk Officer. Our mission is to ensure that American Express operates in a safe, sound, and fully compliant manner within all applicable regulatory expectations. We create and maintain the overall risk management framework, perform independent risk management assessments, and continuously monitor risks to protect the company and its customers.
This position serves as a critical leadership role within the Global Compliance & Ethics organization. As the Vice President of Compliance for U.S. Credit and Fraud Risk (CFR) and Customer Protection and Risk Operations (CPRO), you will provide independent compliance oversight for these key business units within the Global Services Group. You will lead a team responsible for delivering effective challenge to ensure the business builds, enhances, and maintains a robust framework for compliance with internal policies, laws, and regulations.
In this role, you will partner with business stakeholders to navigate the complexities of the credit lifecycle, from underwriting and eligibility to collections and fraud prevention. Your work ensures that new products, services, and capabilities are launched with appropriate compliance processes and controls in place. You will foster a culture of collaboration, managing relationships across the organization to drive continuous improvement and effective decision-making.
