The Director of Community Financial Services leads a municipal advisory and financial management practice dedicated to serving rural communities and public entities. In this strategic leadership capacity, you will oversee a portfolio representing more than $7 million in revenue, guiding project teams to strengthen community fiscal sustainability and compliance.
You will provide technical expertise in audit readiness, budgeting, financial planning, internal controls, and outsourced finance support. The role is designed to grow and scale the organization's financial services practice while ensuring high-quality client service and financial performance across a $1M portfolio of fee-for-service contracts.
This is a remote work-from-home role; however, candidates must reside in one of the following states: AL, AR, LA, OK, MS, TN, or TX. The position requires approximately 20% to 30% travel to support client engagements and business development activities.

CPA certification. Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) or related governmental finance credential. Experience in governmental, municipal, utility, or nonprofit fund accounting. Knowledge of GASB standards, audit requirements, internal controls, and public-sector financial reporting. Experience in municipal budgeting, cash flow planning, rate or revenue analysis, or capital planning. Experience providing outsourced accounting, controller, CFO, or advisory services. Experience managing client engagements or consulting portfolios, preferably fee-for-service contracts.
