The Director of Business Development (DBD) serves as a strategic leader responsible for driving new business acquisition and expanding existing relationships within the supply chain solutions sector. This role is pivotal in orchestrating the complete sales cycle, from initial lead generation and prospect qualification to closing complex deals. The Director will lead cross-functional pursuit teams, providing clear direction on deal strategy, pricing models, service offerings, and value propositions.
The position focuses heavily on new sales contracts, team selling, and solution selling. As a key member of the sales organization, the Director will be assigned a specific sales quota and is expected to demonstrate a deep understanding of services, costs, pricing, and value to effectively customize Ryder's solutions for customer needs. The role involves a dedicated focus on one vertical or business unit, with the flexibility to collaborate on other deals as needed by sales leadership.
