We are seeking compassionate Full-Time and Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities or chronic mental health conditions. Our mission is rooted in the belief that every individual can fully participate in societal roles alongside community members without disabilities.
As a DSP, your primary purpose is to provide individualized support that empowers clients to grow, expand their skills, and build confidence. You will help clients live as independently as possible by ensuring their physical, mental, emotional, and social needs are met. This role is about more than just completing tasks; it is about fostering meaningful relationships and maximizing opportunities for clients to connect with their community.
Your day will be tailored to the unique service plan of the individual you support. You will assist with daily living activities such as hygiene, mealtime, and transportation to appointments, while also teaching self-control and self-management skills. A significant part of your role involves documenting client progress and maintaining safety protocols. You will work closely with a supportive team to promote positive communication and ensure a safe environment for both clients and staff.
To apply, candidates must possess a valid Class C driver's license (or Class D for larger vehicles) and reliable transportation. You will need to pass a health assessment, complete required medication administration training, and clear all applicable background checks. A high school diploma or GED is required for specific service lines (RBSCL, HBH, & My Day HAB), while a BA in Human Services is preferred.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We value team players who promote positive working relationships and believe in the potential of every individual we serve. Our culture emphasizes safety, judgment, and the ability to adapt to the evolving needs of our clients.

Hope Haven Inc. operates as a licensed Therapeutic Community based in Charlotte, NC, delivering specialized services within the Individual and Family Services industry. Since its founding in 1978 by Arietta Black and Alice Trotter, the organization has addressed critical gaps in recovery resources, originally focusing on women affected by alcoholism. The entity utilizes the Therapeutic Community model, recognized as a national best practice for treating Substance Use Disorder, to help individuals and families build foundations for healthy, independent living.
The organization serves over 300 men, women, and children annually. Client demographics include single parents with children, intact families, and individuals seeking long-term recovery support. Programs are designed to be comprehensive, offering individual and group counseling, workforce development, job readiness training, medical care, and housing placement assistance. These structured services aim to equip residents with the necessary tools to transition successfully from treatment to autonomous life. The approach emphasizes sustained support through long-term engagement rather than short-term intervention, ensuring lasting stability for those impacted by substance use disorders.
