At Hope Haven, we operate on a core belief: individuals with disabilities can fully participate in societal roles alongside community members without disabilities. Our mission is to maximize opportunities for the development of individual relationships and to support clients in living as independently as possible.
We are seeking full-time and part-time Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to join our team in serving individuals with intellectual disabilities or chronic mental health conditions. Whether this is your first job or a career change, this position offers a meaningful entry point into the field of Human Services.
Your day begins with the intention to make a profound and positive difference, and you will end it having done exactly that. The specific nature of your support depends on the service line:
As a DSP, you will be a vital team player, promoting positive communication with colleagues and the community while ensuring the physical, mental, emotional, and social needs of our clients are met.
To join our team, candidates must meet specific safety and regulatory standards. This includes passing a health assessment at the time of hire, maintaining up-to-date health assessments as requested, and clearing all applicable background checks. A valid Class C driver's license (or Class D for larger vehicles) and proof of state minimum liability insurance are required, unless driving a vehicle with a capacity of 8 or more.
We look for individuals with sound judgment, good written and verbal communication skills, and basic computer literacy. While a high school diploma or GED is preferred (and required for specific service lines like RBSCL, HBH, and My Day HAB), a BA in Human Services is also a plus. Successful candidates must also complete a required medication administration course.
Hope Haven fosters an environment where every team member is valued. We encourage a culture of positivity, teamwork, and safety. As a DSP, you will be expected to follow all safety procedures and promote personal safety measures among both the team and the clients you support. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring that our staff reflects the communities we serve.
