Mentor Community Services, a part of the Sevita family, is a leading provider of home and community-based specialized health care. For over 50 years, our mission has been to help individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities live full, independent lives. Today, our 40,000 team members continue to innovate and enhance care for the 50,000 individuals we serve across the U.S. We believe that everyone deserves to live well and have a fulfilling career. You will join a mission-driven team where creating meaningful relationships is at the heart of our daily work.
This position offers a unique opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. As a Direct Support Professional, you will be the backbone of a residential or periodic program, supporting 4 to 6 individuals in a home setting or up to 10 in community programs. Your role is to foster growth and independence by assisting with daily activities, from personal care and medication administration to socialization and community integration.
You will work as part of a collaborative team, ensuring that every individual's service plan is followed with compassion and precision. Whether you are accompanying someone to a medical appointment, preparing a meal according to their dietary needs, or simply sharing a moment of connection, your presence helps build a safe, supportive environment. This is a career well-lived, where your dedication motivates the entire team and transforms the lives of those you serve.
Candidates selected for this role will undergo a comprehensive screening process to ensure safety and fit. This includes a criminal background check, a review of the Central Registry of Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities, and a check against the Child Abuse Registry Information (CARI). All new hires must also submit to drug testing prior to employment and agree to random testing thereafter. Successful candidates will complete all state-mandated training and certifications before beginning their duties.
