About the Role
Maximus is seeking a Diagnostic Scheduling Communication Specialist to join our Veterans Evaluation Services (VES) team. In this remote capacity, you will serve as a vital link between veterans and our provider network, managing incoming scheduling communications and distributing essential facility information to internal teams. Your work directly supports regional teams, Team Support Specialists, and Team Leads by handling specialized administrative functions that ensure the smooth operation of veteran appointment logistics.
Day in the Life
Your primary focus will be facilitating the scheduling process for veterans. This involves making outbound calls to gather required information, managing rescheduling requests, and acting as the first point of contact for the Scheduling Hunt Group. You will monitor voicemails hourly to ensure timely responses and process pending Claimant Appointment Packets (CAPS), including sending manual packets and coordinating hard-copy mailings via FedEx. Effective communication with internal departments is key to resolving scheduling needs and ensuring veterans receive their appointment notifications promptly.
Work Environment & Requirements
This is a fully remote position requiring you to reside permanently in the Continental US. Due to contract requirements, you must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder. You will be provided with all necessary computer equipment by Maximus and must maintain a private work area with a high-speed internet connection (20mbps or higher) via Wi-Fi or Ethernet.
The role requires a strict commitment to a 3-week training period (Monday–Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST) with no prescheduled absences. Following training, you will work a fixed schedule of Monday–Friday, either 8:00 am – 5:00 pm CST, 7:00 am – 4:00 pm EST, or 8:00 am – 5:00 pm PST. Travel is not permitted; you must remain at your designated home location for all work activities.
Hiring Process & Compensation
Maximus pays the prevailing wage rate for the specific location of the employee, as determined by the Department of Labor. Salary history will not be used to determine compensation. For positions on this contract, the wage rate varies by locality.
