This Development & Communications Internship offers a unique opportunity to support our mission through strategic storytelling and donor engagement. You will serve as a bridge between our programs and the community, developing social media content that highlights our impact stories, events, and partnerships. Beyond digital content, you will draft short-form copy for emails and newsletters aligned with our brand voice and fundraising priorities. You will also gain hands-on experience in the development side of our work by preparing prospect research profiles for potential individual, corporate, and foundation donors, recording pertinent information in our Raiser's Edge database.
Through this role, you will gain hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, digital content strategy, and donor prospect research. You will strengthen persuasive writing skills tailored to mission-driven storytelling and fundraising appeals. Through research assignments, you will learn how to analyze publicly available information, assess philanthropic capacity, and synthesize findings into actionable insights. Additionally, you will build professional skills in remote collaboration, project management, and strategic messaging.
This internship prepares candidates for entry-level roles such as Development Assistant, Communications Coordinator, Social Media Specialist, or Prospect Research Associate within nonprofit organizations, healthcare systems, or mission-driven institutions. The experience is also relevant for roles in marketing, public relations, digital engagement, or advancement services in higher education and healthcare settings.
Interns will work 4-10 hours per week for one semester (Spring, Summer, or Fall). We offer flexible start dates and opportunities for multiple semesters or additional work, which are open for discussion.
