As a Deputy Judicial Administrative Assistant, you serve as the operational backbone of Division 30, providing essential technical, administrative, and clerical support to the presiding judge or commissioner. In this non-exempt role, you ensure the logistical flow of courtroom activities runs smoothly, acting as a critical liaison between the bench, attorneys, defendants, and court staff.
Your day involves managing the lifecycle of case files, from receiving and initiating new matters to processing complex legal documents in strict accordance with court rules. You will prepare court orders, calendars, and notices, while also serving as the primary secretary for the judge, maintaining their schedule and keeping them informed of case activity. Beyond administrative tasks, you play a direct role in courtroom proceedings by opening and closing sessions, recording appearances, and monitoring security to maintain an orderly environment.
This position requires a high degree of accuracy and the ability to handle a fast-paced workload with changing priorities. You will interact with diverse parties in a professional and courteous manner, resolving technical discrepancies and providing customer assistance both in person and remotely.
