The Dental Assistant serves as a vital partner to the dentist, ensuring the seamless flow of patient care from the moment they arrive until they leave. This role is designed to support the clinical team by managing patient preparation, assisting with a wide range of dental procedures, and maintaining a safe, efficient environment in the back office. You will be the face of the clinic for many patients, guiding them through their visit with professionalism and care.
Your day begins by preparing the operatory and ensuring all necessary lab cases, financial information, and patient data are ready before the first appointment. You will greet patients in the reception area, escort them to the operatory, and gather vital signs and health history updates. Throughout the shift, you will assist the dentist with procedures ranging from restorative work and oral surgery to periodontics and pedodontics, handling tasks such as taking impressions, applying topical agents, and managing sterilization protocols.
Beyond clinical duties, you play a key role in patient flow management, keeping patients informed of wait times and stepping into front office support when needed. You will also provide patients with post-treatment instructions and oral health education, ensuring they feel comfortable and informed. The role requires flexibility to present at any Family HealthCare Network location based on business needs and to maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety standards.
Candidates must possess a Dental Assistant certification and proof of completing a Radiation Safety Course. We look for individuals with a high school diploma (GPA 2.5+) or GED (score 162.5+), or a higher degree with a stronger GPA, along with two years of experience or a successful completion of a dental assistant externship with Family HealthCare Network. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is also required.
Family HealthCare Network is committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, or genetic information. We value diversity and strive to create an inclusive environment where all team members can thrive.
