Founded in 1998, Aspire Public Schools operates a network of high-performing, college preparatory charter schools serving TK-12 scholars across California. We were established to transform the inequitable racial, social, and gender outcomes that our communities persist through. Today, Aspire stands as one of the largest and most forward-thinking open-enrollment public charter school systems in the nation.
Our purpose is to prepare scholars for success in college, career, and life. We set a foundation for students to gain the knowledge, skills, and power to access and make choices for their families and post-secondary lives. Every day, our community of students, families, teachers, and staff comes together to learn, work, and play in an environment grounded in our core values: Bienestar (Well-Being), Culture of Belonging, Community Partnership, Agency & Self-Determination, and Joy.
We are seeking a Dean of California Community Schools Partnership Program (AP of CCSPP) for an Aspire Elementary School (TK-6) in South Los Angeles. This role is pivotal in managing the functions of the school site while overseeing the California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP).
In this position, you will design, implement, and supervise programs dedicated to the holistic development of students. You will foster deep community relationships and enhance school culture by collaborating with school leaders, parents, families, and community organizations. Your work will ensure a community school strategy that is fully aligned with CCSPP goals. Additionally, you will support the Principal in building a culture that fosters respect and is driven by the principles of "College for Certain."
Your day will involve coordinating academic, socio-emotional, and health resources for students and their families, while facilitating expanded health and wellness services including behavioral and mental health support. You will lead the review and update of the Community Schools Implementation Plan, ensuring it reflects the school's progress, legislative updates, and continuous improvement processes.
You will chair the school's Community Schools Advisory Committee and facilitate communication among all stakeholders to support collaborative decision-making. From managing student discipline and safety protocols to organizing extracurricular and enrichment activities, you will be the bridge between the school and the broader community. You will also serve as the administrative lead in the absence of the Principal, ensuring the school runs smoothly and safely.
Interested candidates should submit their application through the Aspire careers portal. The selection process typically includes a review of qualifications, followed by interviews with the school leadership team and regional staff. Finalists may be invited for a campus visit to engage with the community and demonstrate their fit with Aspire's culture.
