The Dean serves as a senior academic leader within the School of Liberal Arts, School of Fine Arts, or School of Media and Design, reporting directly to the Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs. This is a strategic position designed to oversee the holistic operations of the School, ensuring alignment with the College's mission to promote excellence in teaching, scholarship, and the student experience.
As an academic administrator, the Dean works collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and institutional leadership to drive School-wide activities and program opportunities. The role involves developing strategy for a wide range of academic initiatives, managing fiscal stewardship, and ensuring operational effectiveness. The Dean serves as a vital link between the School and the broader College, coordinating closely with units such as Admissions, Enrollment Management, and Student Affairs to support student success and institutional goals.
This position is well-versed in the public values of art and design and is responsible for fostering a collaborative, inclusive academic culture. The Dean acts as a member of the Provost's Council, contributing to institutional strategic planning and representing the School in external forums and industry partnerships.
