The Watson Candidate Assistant serves as a dedicated resource for inquiries regarding employment opportunities at Dallas ISD. This position is designed to support the district's mission by providing clear, accessible information to prospective candidates.
In addition to answering questions, the role involves supporting students who are deaf or hard of hearing by facilitating learning experiences that foster their full potential across language, intellectual, emotional, physical, academic, and social domains. The position requires developing tailored lesson plans and implementing study programs that address the unique needs, interests, and abilities of assigned students and families, incorporating necessary modifications based on IEP, ISP, and IFSP goals.
Collaboration is central to this role. You will work cooperatively with district staff, Shared Service Agreement members, ECI providers, and families to develop and refine Individual Education Plans (IEP), Individual Service Plans (ISP), and Individual Family Service Plans (IFSP). The position also involves conducting ongoing assessments of student achievement, documenting progress according to district protocols, and providing training to stakeholders on hearing loss impacts, assistive technology, communication modes, and instructional strategies.
To apply for this position, candidates must possess a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university and hold a valid Texas Teacher Certification in Hearing Impairment EC-12. Proficiency in sign language and a general knowledge of curriculum, instruction, and assessment are required. Additionally, applicants should demonstrate specific knowledge regarding language and auditory development, as well as instruction, technology, accommodations, and modifications for students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
