As an IBM Cyber Security Apprentice, you will join a local cohort of fellow apprentices. During your first few weeks, you will learn about IBM's culture and the skills you will attain throughout the program. Following this onboarding, you will work closely with managers and mentors to progress through a personal skills roadmap, demonstrating new knowledge and competencies through hands-on application with project teams.
This is an official Registered Apprenticeship recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL). Graduates receive a nationally-recognized credential from the DOL. The program combines specific learning hours with on-the-job training to ensure you develop the essential skills for the role. While you can learn at your own pace, most apprentices complete the program within 12 months. Upon graduation and receipt of your certificate, you will be eligible to apply for available full-time roles at IBM.
As a Cyber Security Apprentice at IBM, you will work within the Security Operations Center (SOC). This role offers the opportunity to apply your technical knowledge using the latest tools and technologies to support and prevent cyber threats for our clients. You will be part of a team dedicated to monitoring, investigating, and securing client systems and data.
An apprenticeship is about learning. We are seeking candidates who are just getting their careers started and are eager to grow. We value individuals with a drive to learn, the ability to work independently and efficiently, and strong collaborative skills. Experience in data analysis or working in a team-oriented environment is a plus.

An Associates Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related. Exposure to consulting approaches and techniques used to drive transformation and provide value to clients, including familiarity with industry and regulatory requirements. Basic understanding of security programs and compliance requirements in industry-leading organizations, with curiosity about their application in various contexts. Exposure to advisory services and the role of a trusted advisor in supporting client engagements, with awareness of the development of security solutions.
