About the Department

The Department of Insurance and Financial Institutions (DIFI) is one of Arizona's largest professional licensing agencies. Our mission is to help Arizonans receive the benefits and protections to which they are legally entitled by enforcing insurance and financial institution laws. We provide information and assistance, resolve consumer complaints, and take action against violations of law. Additionally, we combat auto theft and insurance fraud through public awareness campaigns and by funding law enforcement and dedicated prosecutors.

The Insurance and Real Estate Appraisal Licensing section specifically manages over 350,000 individuals and businesses holding insurance professional licenses, as well as over 2,500 real estate appraiser licensees. We review applications, issue and renew licenses in accordance with Arizona law, and ensure the safety and soundness of regulated entities.

About the Role

As a Customer Service Representative II, you will serve as a vital link between the Department and the public. This position is a hybrid role, requiring you to work remotely on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and in-office at our Phoenix location on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

In this role, you will review license and renewal applications received online, by mail, and in person to ensure they contain all required information. You will enter data accurately into our computer systems, correspond with applicants to resolve deficiencies, and answer questions regarding licensing requirements via phone, email, and in person. You will also assist with public record requests and review scanned records for proper indexing.

Beyond daily tasks, you will actively participate in process improvement initiatives, sharing ideas with your supervisor and co-workers to help make the Department better. You will apply sound judgment to review complex issues and communicate effectively with consumers, attorneys, insurers, and other regulated entities.
