As a Customer Accounts Advisor at Aaron's, you serve as a coach to our customers, driving payment collections and lease agreement renewals. Your mission is to help customers understand the benefits of their lease agreements and ensure they are 100% satisfied with their products. By building relationships over the phone and through face-to-face interactions, you guide customers one step closer to ownership.
This role is designed for individuals who can connect with people, demonstrate empathy, and navigate difficult conversations with patience and clarity. You will share our team's passion for making a real difference in the lives of others by creating strong personal connections.
Your day will involve a dynamic mix of customer engagement and operational tasks. You will maintain updated customer information in our store computer system and document all payment appointments. A significant portion of your time will be spent in direct contact with customers who have not yet renewed their lease agreements, whether through in-home visits or phone calls, helping them see the value in timely renewals.
You will work alongside the Customer Account Manager to set and achieve daily, weekly, and monthly revenue and renewal goals. The role also includes assisting with merchandise returns and guest deliveries, as well as cleaning and certifying returned items in the Quality Assurance Center. As part of the logistics team, you will complete weekly vehicle maintenance and route sheets, load and secure product in the company vehicle, and safely operate the vehicle to reach customers.
To succeed in this role, you must be at least 21 years old in the United States with a valid state Driver's License and a satisfactory driving record (MVR) compliant with the Company's Driver Qualification Policy. In Canada, the minimum age is 18. You must also meet DOT requirements to obtain certification in required states.
The ideal candidate possesses excellent interpersonal and communication skills, proper telephone etiquette, and the ability to maintain a professional appearance. You should have high energy to effectively perform all store functions and multitask efficiently. Proficiency with computers is required. While two years of retail or customer service experience and a high school diploma or equivalent are preferred, the most important assets are your ability to relate to people and your commitment to the Aaron's brand.
