This position serves as a vital part of the community's daily operations, ensuring that common areas remain clean, safe, and welcoming for residents and visitors alike. Under supervision, you will be responsible for cleaning public and private spaces, including clubhouses, laundry buildings, drying areas, and stairwells. The role involves regular interaction with residents, vendors, and other departments, requiring a professional and respectful demeanor at all times.
Your day will involve a variety of custodial tasks, such as sweeping, mopping, waxing, and dusting appliances and interior spaces. You will also wash sinks, windows, screens, and walls, as well as manage trash receptacles. Attention to detail is essential, from cleaning handrails and stairwell light covers to maintaining outdoor shuffleboard and patio furniture. In addition to cleaning, you may assist with light maintenance tasks, move furniture, and secure doors or turn off unnecessary lights.
The role requires regular on-site attendance and the ability to work effectively with a diverse workforce. You will be expected to share ideas constructively, listen to suggestions, and address problems to find practical solutions. A valid California driver's license is required to perform duties such as obtaining mail or delivering parts and equipment.
Applicants must possess a valid California driver's license and demonstrate the ability to read and write work-related instructions in English. Candidates should have knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, and cleaning materials and methods. Experience with operating custodial equipment, such as floor machines, buffers, and vacuum cleaners, is highly desirable. The successful candidate will be able to maintain a cleaning schedule with minimal supervision and work the hours determined by shift assignments.
