The Crisis Care Specialist serves as a leader in providing de-escalation and support strategies designed to prevent the use of seclusion and restraint. This role is critical for maintaining safety and security by delivering effective emergency response during imminent danger. The position fosters a "No-Force-First" recovery environment, focusing on the well-being of individuals in a behavioral health setting.
You will collaborate with each guest to strengthen their valued roles—such as friend, spouse, employee, or student—to help establish a greater sense of identity and community living. Your day involves conducting ongoing observations to report significant changes, assisting with admissions, discharges, and transfers, and performing room safety checks to ensure a secure environment free of dangerous objects.
You will be responsible for completing required clinical documentation and adhering to CPI standards. The role requires the ability to remain focused and adapt to changing environments, responding quickly to critical situations that may necessitate restrictive interventions. Additionally, you may be called upon to stay at or return to work during agency incidents or emergencies to perform duties specific to this position, which may involve non-traditional schedules.
This position may be based in an office environment or a behavioral health facility. The role involves potential contact with individuals who are agitated or confused and may require travel throughout the geographic region. The schedule includes overnight shifts (7pm–7am).
As part of the new hire onboarding process, a Direct Service Competency Checklist must be completed. Candidates must also adhere to the agency's driving policy; if driving is required for the position, you must meet all outlined requirements. If you are not qualified to drive per policy, a Non-Driver Attestation form must be signed.
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties of this position.
