DePelchin Family Services serves as the Single Source Continuum Contractor (SSCC) for DFPS Region 6A/6B, covering Harris County and 12 surrounding counties. Our mission is to support children and families through the Texas Community-Based Care transition, evolving from initial placement support in Stage I to full case management in Stage II.
The Court Liaison Paralegal is an integral member of our legal team, reporting directly to a Child Welfare Attorney. This role is designed to provide critical support in both in-court and out-of-court settings as the organization navigates the complexities of the Community-Based Care transition.
You will be the operational backbone of our legal efforts, ensuring seamless coordination across a 13-county region. Your day will involve frequent travel to court hearings, client meetings, and stakeholder engagements. In Stage I, you will focus on tracking hearings, managing compliance with DFPS policies, and assisting with adoption documentation. As the organization transitions to Stage II, your role will expand to include drafting motions, managing master dockets, preparing witnesses, and serving as a key administrative liaison between the SSCC legal team and external court parties.
This position requires a professional who thrives in a dynamic, multidisciplinary environment and is passionate about improving outcomes for children in foster care. You will work closely with case managers, social workers, and external agencies to ensure that legal requirements are met and that the best interests of the children remain the priority.
Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted directly by the hiring team to schedule a conversation regarding their experience and fit for this role.
