The Corrections Oversight Worker serves as a vital link in the food service operations within correctional facilities. In this role, you will supervise inmates to ensure that meal and food items are prepared in accordance with production plans while maintaining the highest standards of sanitation and safety. You will train workers in methods of performing duties, assign and coordinate work to promote operational efficiency, and ensure timely, efficient meal service.
Your day will involve reviewing and approving production and temperature logs, directing inmates in the use of recipes and proper cooking procedures, and ensuring that proper portions and special dietary requirements are fulfilled. You will also be responsible for maintaining facility security by adhering to all security policies, ensuring storage areas are locked, and managing the secure return of kitchen tools and keys. This position requires the ability to exercise good judgment and tact while motivating and supervising inmates and team members to attain quality and quantity of food production in a correctional work environment.
