The Corrections Oversight Worker serves as a vital link in the food service operations within correctional facilities. In this unique environment, you will supervise inmates to ensure meal and food items are prepared in strict accordance with production plans. Beyond food preparation, the role involves training workers in duty methods, assigning and coordinating tasks to promote operational efficiency, and maintaining the sanitation of the facility while adhering to all safety standards and regulations.
This position requires a balance of culinary oversight and security compliance. You will direct inmates in the use of recipes and proper cooking procedures, ensure proper portions and special dietary requirements are met, and participate in the preparation and serving of meals. The role also involves managing inventory, receiving and storing food items, and ensuring all kitchen tools and equipment are returned to designated secure areas. As a supervisor, you will determine work procedures, prepare schedules, and ensure that all staff, including inmates and food service workers, adhere to assigned timelines and security policies.
