The Core Facility Research Specialist 1 (A) serves as a vital liaison between the Shared Resource (SR) Director, the Research Lab Supervisor, and research staff. This role is designed to execute complex research protocols within revenue-generating core facilities, ensuring the seamless operation of sophisticated scientific equipment and laboratory workflows.
In this position, you will function at the intersection of technical execution and operational management. Your day-to-day involves assisting in the development of new core procedures, ensuring strict adherence to regulatory policies, and maintaining accurate records of laboratory results. You will manage inventory for supplies and reagents, perform quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) checks, and handle minor equipment maintenance or coordinate with service engineers. The role requires a high degree of attention to detail to minimize human error while performing molecular genetic techniques, such as DNA/RNA quantitation and genotyping.
