About the Role
Eurofins Environmental Testing Southwest is seeking a Laboratory Technician I to join our team in Tustin, CA. In this position, you will play a vital role in the Sample Preparation Laboratory by utilizing general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation. Your work ensures that soil and water samples are accurately weighed, digested, and prepared for GC and GCMS analysis in strict compliance with Eurofins Quality Assurance programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
As a key member of the analytical team, you will manage daily workflows by evaluating backlogs and prioritizing tasks based on required due dates and holding times. Your day-to-day activities involve retrieving samples from storage, measuring aliquots, preparing reagents and standards, and documenting all preparation details and observations. You will also be responsible for maintaining laboratory equipment, washing glassware, and adhering to environmental health and safety policies to ensure a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
Effective collaboration is essential to this role. You will actively communicate with the department manager, analytical team, and project managers regarding job status, rush ETAs, sample matrix issues, and holding times. Additionally, you will be expected to assist other areas of the laboratory as needed to support overall operational efficiency.
