Key Responsibilities
- check_circleExecute triage patient calls and inquiries
- check_circleSchedule pre and post operative office appointments and preadmission testing
- check_circleCoordinate surgical procedures and ancillary imaging as required by the surgeon
- check_circleEnsure timely scheduling and authorization of surgeries in the EMR system
- check_circleCollaborate with ASCs to input patient demographics and case information
- check_circleCollaborate with providers to obtain necessary surgical clearances
- check_circleCoordinate with vendors to secure equipment, implants, and grafts for complex procedures
- check_circleTrack completion of pre-surgical documentation including clearances, tests, and authorizations
- check_circleAssemble surgical packets and educational materials for patients prior to appointments
- check_circleManage patient referrals and obtain insurance authorizations
- check_circleCommunicate provider professional fees and work with staff to provide financial quotes
- check_circleWork with hospital scheduling on OR block needs and releasing unnecessary blocks
Requirements
- verifiedMinimum of Associates degree with 2 years' experience in a healthcare setting OR High School/GED with 5 years' experience in a healthcare setting required
- verifiedSix months of relevant healthcare revenue cycle, scheduling, or customer service experience preferred
- verifiedFamiliarity with medical terminology
- verifiedProficient with electronic medical record systems
- verifiedKnowledge of healthcare and health insurance procedures
