The Diocese of Nashville is dedicated to the mission of Living and Proclaiming the Good News of Jesus Christ, Welcoming All. The Office of Faith Formation serves as a central hub for nurturing the spiritual lives of the community, specifically focusing on the development of youth and young adult ministries within our schools and parishes.
The Coordinator for Youth and Young Adult Ministry plays a vital role in facilitating the growth of faith communities across the Diocese. Working under the direction of the Assistant Director, this position is designed to accompany youth and young adults, providing them with meaningful experiences to live out their faith. The role blends programmatic management with relational ministry, ensuring that young people are engaged, supported, and connected to the broader Church.
In this capacity, you will be the face of the Office of Faith Formation when the Assistant Director is off-site, managing logistics for major Diocesan-level retreats and initiatives. From organizing the SEARCH retreat for high school seniors to coordinating the National Catholic Youth Conference (NCYC) and World Youth Day, you will handle the intricate details of content, lodging, catering, and marketing. Beyond the events, you will deepen relationships with schools and youth groups by attending their masses, luncheons, and youth nights, acting as a bridge between the Diocese and local parishes.
Your day will likely involve a mix of creative and administrative tasks. You will craft and post social media content to promote events, manage communications through Instagram, Google Voice, and email, and respond to inquiries from students and families. You will also assist in managing the monthly budget for the Youth and Young Adult Ministry branch. Whether you are ensuring Safe Environment compliance for a retreat or coordinating with volunteer leaders, your work ensures that the mission of the Diocese is effectively communicated and lived out.
The Diocese of Nashville is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where everyone can contribute to our shared mission.
