The Cooling CE serves as the frontline technical expert for Liebert Air products, responsible for the full lifecycle of equipment including installation, commissioning, and both scheduled and emergency service. This role is critical to maintaining operational continuity for our customers, requiring a balance of technical precision and relationship management.
You will act as the primary point of contact for clients, establishing and maintaining excellent rapport with customers, co-workers, and sales representatives. Success in this position relies on your ability to communicate effectively with Area/District Offices and direct management while navigating complex field environments. Whether working under direct supervision or independently based on your training, you will be expected to execute a wide range of work-related tasks that keep our cooling infrastructure running smoothly.
Your day will involve rendering on-site and phone assistance to customers, troubleshooting equipment issues in collaboration with National Technical Support, and implementing Field Change Notices according to published guidelines. You will be responsible for performing scheduled maintenance tasks while strictly adhering to safety bulletins and service tips.
A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to customer satisfaction, striving for a "first time fix" for equipment issues and providing accurate estimated times of arrival. You will manage administrative duties such as timecards, expense reports, and inventory maintenance, ensuring all documentation is completed and submitted promptly. Productivity will be maximized by combining service opportunities and making technical and commercial decisions under pressure, all while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to the company's "14 hours rule" for work hours.
This role demands adaptability to diverse and often challenging environments. You will frequently work outdoors with no effective protection from weather, facing extreme cold (below 32°F) and extreme heat (above 100°F). The environment may include high noise levels requiring shouting to be heard and proximity to moving machinery such as forklifts and tractors. Protective equipment, including earplugs, gloves, eyewear, respirators, and masks, is required.
The position requires frequent driving and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds consistently, occasionally up to 75 pounds. You must be prepared for flexible schedules that include weekends, evenings, and holidays, with potential on-call responsibilities. A valid driver's license is mandatory, and you must be at least 18 years old.
