This position is based at The Resort at Kapalua Bay in Maui, Hawaii. As a member of our Food and Beverage & Culinary team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the high standards of our kitchen operations. Your day will involve preparing ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food, as well as washing and peeling fresh fruits and vegetables.
You will be responsible for weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, then preparing and cooking food according to recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines. The role requires operating various kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers, while testing foods to ensure they are cooked sufficiently. You will also prepare cold foods, set up and break down work stations, and serve food in proper portions.
Beyond food preparation, you will ensure the cleanliness and safety of the kitchen by washing and disinfecting areas, tables, tools, and equipment. You will monitor food quality, check appliance temperatures, and adhere to all company safety and security policies. This role demands physical stamina, requiring you to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods and lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
