This position is based at the 11903 Aurora St. location within the Food and Nutrition department. The role is integral to ensuring high-quality patient care through the preparation and delivery of nutritious meals. You will be responsible for reviewing production sheets and recipes to guarantee that food items meet established quality and quantity standards. Your day-to-day involves measuring and mixing ingredients, operating a variety of kitchen equipment such as blenders and slicers, and preparing diverse dishes including soups, salads, and casseroles.
Beyond food preparation, you will play a critical role in maintaining safety and efficiency. This includes monitoring food temperatures, ensuring proper storage and rotation of inventories, and adhering to strict sanitation protocols to prevent contamination. You will also focus on portion control and waste reduction by preparing food in small batches. A key aspect of this role is demonstrating knowledge of patient care appropriate to the age of those served, interpreting patient status data to meet age-specific dietary needs in alignment with departmental policies.
