About the Role
We are seeking a Controller to lead the day-to-day accounting operations of the organization. This role serves as a critical foundation for Bethesda, ensuring financial accuracy, strengthening internal systems, and providing clear, reliable financial information to support wise decision-making.
The Controller will oversee core accounting functions, including the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting. The right leader will bring structure, discipline, and consistency to financial operations while working collaboratively across the organization. You will be a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys building processes, improving systems, and leading a small team with clarity and accountability.

Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- verifiedCPA certification preferred
- verified5–7 years of progressive accounting experience
- verifiedStrong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls
- verifiedExperience managing accounting operations including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable
- verifiedProficiency in accounting systems and financial reporting tools
- verifiedDemonstrated leadership ability and experience managing accounting staff
- verifiedPracticing believer in the Lord Jesus Christ
- verifiedCommitment to growth in relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and in Christian maturity
Nice to Have
CPA certification. Experience in nonprofit or healthcare organizations.
