About the Opportunity

Vaco is partnering with a growing property development and commercial real estate organization in Kansas City to find a strategic Controller. This is a direct-hire, onsite role designed to lead the financial backbone of a dynamic team managing multiple development entities and investment structures.

The Role

As the Controller, you will serve as the primary steward of financial operations, overseeing everything from day-to-day accounting and project cost tracking to complex multi-entity consolidations. You will be the bridge between technical accounting precision and strategic business partnership, working closely with development, construction, and property management teams to ensure financial accuracy from acquisition through disposition.

This position is ideal for a hands-on leader with deep real estate industry experience who thrives on implementing process improvements and mentoring a team. You will manage critical functions including job cost accounting, cash flow forecasting, lender reporting, and compliance with GAAP and external audit requirements.
