Vaco by Highspring is partnering with a global aerospace and defense organization to find a Director of Government Accounting. This role is pivotal for the company's continued growth in government contracting, serving as the primary liaison between the organization and government auditors. The successful candidate will work closely with executive leadership to ensure full compliance with complex regulatory requirements while guiding strategic decisions tied to government cost structures.
As the Director of Government Accounting, you will lead the corporate government accounting function, managing a team of accountants and directing financial close and reporting processes. Your day-to-day will involve ensuring adherence to Cost Accounting Standards (CAS), Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), and U.S. GAAP across all government programs. You will serve as the main point of contact for agencies such as the Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCA) and the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), overseeing the preparation of critical filings like Forward Pricing Rate Proposals and Incurred Cost Submissions. Beyond technical compliance, you will advise executive leadership on regulatory matters and lead audit response efforts to drive operational excellence.
