The Controller serves as the financial steward for a specialized shipyard dedicated to U.S. Navy contracts, overseeing vessel construction, repair, and modernization programs. This role is critical for ensuring the accurate financial management of complex government contracts while maintaining strict compliance with FAR, DFARS, and DCAA requirements. You will partner closely with Operations, Program Management, Contracts, and Executive Leadership to drive financial performance across multiple concurrent marine industrial projects.
In this position, you will navigate the unique challenges of a fast-paced industrial setting, balancing rigorous government compliance with operational financial support. Your day-to-day involves managing the full spectrum of accounting operations, from general ledger and payroll to intricate job cost accounting for shipbuilding. You will act as a strategic advisor, analyzing cost variances, forecasting earned value metrics, and collaborating with program managers to optimize contract profitability and cost efficiency.
