The UW Medicine Supply Chain Management Contracts team provides strategic sourcing and contracting services to support clinical, research, and administrative operations across UW Medicine. Our mission is to ensure compliance, cost-effectiveness, and alignment with institutional goals while delivering exceptional customer service to the broader healthcare community.
As a Contracts Specialist - IT, you will lead the contracting and strategic sourcing activities for complex agreements involving software, hardware, and cloud services. This role exists to bridge the gap between technical needs and institutional risk management, ensuring that IT procurement decisions are data-driven and compliant with cybersecurity standards.
In this position, you will not only negotiate and administer contracts but also develop long-term sourcing strategies by monitoring emerging IT market trends. A key part of your day involves building strong partnerships with internal departments and external suppliers to maximize contract benefits, resolve performance issues, and drive process improvements. You will serve as a subject matter expert, guiding customers and suppliers on the efficient use of procurement systems while maintaining a deep understanding of medical terminology and hospital-specific items.
