The Project Management & Engineering department is responsible for overseeing capital construction projects within the Municipality of Anchorage. This team ensures that infrastructure developments adhere to strict plans, contracts, and safety standards while coordinating with contractors, engineers, and utility providers to minimize disruption to the community.
This position serves as a critical liaison between the municipality, contractors, and the public during the construction lifecycle. You will inspect capital projects for conformance to plans, verify pay quantities, and produce as-built drawings. A significant portion of the role involves direct communication with contractors and engineers to resolve design issues, as well as coordinating with municipal and private utilities to prevent project conflicts.
You will also engage directly with impacted property owners to explain project activities and address potential impacts to their properties. The role requires a balance of technical oversight and community engagement to ensure projects are completed successfully and transparently.
