Juneau International Airport (JNU) is an energetic team of professionals dedicated to shaping the future of Alaska's capital city airport. We keep the city connected to the world, balancing daily airfield safety and critical operations with the execution of major capital projects. Our environment is fast-paced and FAA-regulated, offering a unique opportunity to make a tangible impact on the traveling public while living in one of the most scenic communities in Alaska.
We are seeking a permanent, full-time Airport Engineer/Architect to join our team. This position is flexibly staffed, meaning the final job level (ranging from Assistant II to Engineer/Architect I) will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications. Under the general direction of the Airport Architect/Engineer, you will provide essential technical and logistical support for airport planning, design, and construction. Your work will span airfield and landside facilities, including pavements, lighting, utilities, buildings, and specialty equipment like baggage systems and passenger boarding bridges. You will collaborate closely with airport staff, federal and municipal agencies, tenants, consultants, and contractors to deliver projects aligned with the Airport Capital Improvement Plan (ACIP). The role requires a blend of office and field work, from scoping and budgeting to construction administration and public engagement.
This recruitment is open until filled. We review applicants and invite qualified individuals to participate in the selection process as they apply. If you have already applied, you will be considered and need not reapply.
