This position serves as a vital administrative and governmental liaison within the District Office, dedicated to supporting the Member and serving constituents. The role exists to ensure seamless communication between the public and the legislative office, handling a wide array of inquiries and processing essential governmental documentation.
You will be the first point of contact for constituents, managing interactions through in-person visits, telephone, email, and social media. Your day involves processing complex forms such as PennDOT documents, property tax rebates, birth and death certificates, and nursing licenses. Beyond administrative tasks, you will cultivate relationships with local businesses and government officials, representing the Member at district events when necessary.
The role requires a high degree of discretion and accuracy, as you will prepare written correspondence that reflects the Member's specific positions and legislative record. You will also manage the Member's calendar, coordinate with the Harrisburg office, and handle financial tasks such as reviewing legislative bills and processing expense vouchers.
This is a 100% onsite position located in the District Office and is not eligible for telework. The work environment is typically quiet, though occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts of office equipment may occur. The role involves standard office physical demands, including sitting for extended periods, handling documents, and occasionally lifting up to 25 pounds.
