This position serves as a vital technical resource within the Division of Environmental Health and Engineering (DEHE), providing computer-aided design (CAD) services and support to project staff. Operating with a high degree of independence, the role bridges the gap between field observations and formal engineering documentation.
The incumbent is responsible for the full lifecycle of project correspondence and records, from initial conception to final completion. A core function involves conducting detailed inspections to ensure strict compliance with DEHE standards. The role requires the ability to navigate unique and unusual engineering situations, producing specialized design drawings and piping and instrumentation diagrams derived directly from field measurements.
Beyond individual technical execution, this position includes a mentorship component. The successful candidate will coordinate, schedule, and monitor the work of other engineering technicians, offering limited supervision under the guidance of the Senior Computer Aided Design Technician. This ensures that technical output remains consistent with practical standards and organizational policies.
