About the Role
The Compliance Testing Manager serves as a vital second line of defense within the Discover Financial Services Integration Testing Team. This role is designed to ensure that integration initiatives and departmental processes adhere to a complex landscape of applicable regulations, including the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Reg B (ECOA), Regulation Z, FFIEC URCCAM, Regulation E (EFTA), AML/BSA regulations, and UDAAP.
Reporting to the Integration Test Lead, the Manager leads a team of integration compliance testers. The position focuses on validating that processes and controls are not only designed effectively to mitigate risk but are also operating as intended. The Manager provides quality assurance on testing executed by the team, ensuring results are timely, technically accurate, and reasonable.
Day in the Life
In this role, you will drive the strategic direction of compliance testing while fostering a collaborative environment. You will guide the development of test plans, communicate procedural changes, and manage staffing assignments to meet critical calendar commitments. A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to analyzing data quality, identifying gaps in data sourcing, and partnering with business and IT areas to develop improved data sources and visualization tools.
You will also serve as a bridge between the testing team and subject matter experts, establishing strong relationships with Compliance Advisors and Business Areas. The role requires translating testing needs into actionable design and development for tools and metrics, while supporting Independent Compliance Transaction Testing (ICTT) and compliance audits as needed.
