We take pride in our inclusive culture, career development opportunities, and our consistent recognition as a Top Workplace based on employee feedback.

At PERA, leveraging employee strengths and supporting strong engagement are the foundations of our culture. We strive to foster an environment where people feel respected, informed, and included. Collaboration is encouraged across teams, allowing employees to learn from one another and contribute in ways that maximize their unique skills.

About the Role

As the Compliance and Research Manager within the Benefits Administration Division, you will lead a team responsible for ensuring regulatory alignment with state laws and PERA rules. Your focus will be on member salaries, required contributions, membership, and post-retirement employment provisions. This role exists to drive results through a confident leadership style that builds trust and fosters individual growth.

You will be a big-picture thinker who interprets and applies law when necessary, translating vision and strategy to your staff. Day-to-day, you will manage project timelines, resolve escalated inquiries from employers, retirees, and members, and analyze data to develop compliance strategies. You will partner with senior management and other divisions to improve operational systems and processes, ensuring your team has the resources needed to provide timely and accurate solutions.

Hiring Process

Interested candidates should complete the employment application online at https://www.copera.org/careers. Please have copies of your resume and cover letter ready to upload. As part of the application, you will be asked to respond to the following questions:

  1. Describe a habit or routine you implemented that says something meaningful about who you are as a leader.
  2. Drawing on your personal experience, describe one failure that changed your mindset or behavior more than your achievements ever did.

Equal Opportunity & Culture

PERA is an employer that invests in its employees, offering comprehensive benefits, generous paid time off, and thoughtful amenities. We champion a workplace where people feel valued, inspired, and equipped to grow through training, mentoring, and development at every stage of their careers.

All Colorado PERA employees are subject to PERA's Ethics Policy and, for some, the Personal Trading Policy, which include restrictions on outside business activities. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background. Please note that PERA cannot consider candidates that require sponsorship (now or in the future), or are located outside of the US.
